About Donni
What is Donni?
Donni is a daily care record for people with complex medical needs. Parents, carers and nurses record medication, seizures, sleep, feeds, observations and shift notes on their phone, in one place. The family owns the record and chooses what the doctors can see.
Who is Donni for?
Families caring for someone of any age with complex medical needs, such as epilepsy or tube feeding, and the carers, nurses, doctors and specialists who work with them. Carers can be employed directly by the family or come through an agency.
Is Donni a medical device?
No. Donni is a record-keeping tool. It records, shows and shares what the care team enters. It does not diagnose, treat or give medical advice, and it does not replace the treating team or emergency services. In an emergency, call 000.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Donni runs in the web browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and works in light and dark mode.
Getting started
How do I start using Donni?
We're opening Donni to new families in stages. Join the waitlist and we'll invite you when there's a place.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is coming soon. Join the waitlist and you'll hear first.
Can I bring my records from another app?
Yes. You can import up to 12 months of past records. We provide templates for the app you're moving from and can help with the move. You'll see any problems before anything is saved. Imported records are marked "Imported" and locked, and you choose whether they appear in reports. For help, email hello@donni.com.au.
How do carers join?
The family's admin sends an invitation. The carer joins with the invitation code and sets their own PIN. Everyone accepts the user agreement before they can see anything.
Records and medication
What if someone records something wrongly?
Saved medication records and notes are locked. The person who recorded it asks the admin to correct it. The admin makes the change with a reason, and the original is kept in the history. Nothing is deleted.
What does "approved by their doctor" mean?
With the guardian's agreement, the family can invite the treating doctor to review the medication chart in Donni and approve or decline each line. It's an approval for use in Donni only. It is not a prescription, and a pharmacist cannot dispense any medication based on it. Approval never stops a carer giving a dose.
Does Donni tell carers how much medication to give?
No. Donni shows the medication chart the family enters, with the strength exactly as typed from the pharmacy label. For as-needed (PRN) medication, it shows how many doses were given in the last 24 hours and asks the carer to check against the prescriber's limits before giving.
Privacy and alerts
Where is my data stored?
On Australian servers in Sydney, including backups and logs. Read how we look after your data.
Can doctors see everything?
No. They see only the report sections the family chooses, never the raw records and never carers' names. The family is told every time a report is exported.
What emails will I get?
You control when you and your carers are notified, and about what: things like missing shift notes, overdue checks and equipment problems. Alert emails never contain health details. The bell in the app always shows everything.
Does Donni use AI?
Only if your admin chooses to turn it on, with the guardian's consent. The optional handover summary is drafted from facts the app has already worked out, and it's labelled as AI-drafted. It runs on Australian-based AI servers, and your data isn't used to train AI.
